North Olympic Land Trust sets annual meeting

The North Olympic Land Trust hosts its annual meeting from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Fairview Grange, 161 Lake Farm Road, Port Angeles. Land Trust staff say the meeting is an opportunity to help shape the direction of the organization.

Guest speaker Bob Steelquist, a longtime Olympic Peninsula resident, author and retired public information officer from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, shares a presentation on “Why We Conserve Places We Know and Love” and discusses how the commitment to act as a steward of places grows from experience.

Land trust Executive Director Tom Sanford then gives an overview of the group’s activities in the past year, an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and/or provide input.

The group also will bestow the Gary Colley Legacy Award to community members Robbie and Jim Mantooth for their role in the Land Trust’s development. Staff also will recognize four outgoing board members and welcome three incoming members.
