Not too late to make Operation Christmas Child donation

Once more, neighbors have filled shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene necessities to bring joy to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child.

The central collection point for shoebox gifts from the North Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas reports a preliminary total of 11,600 gifts for 2018. For many of these children, the shoebox gift will be the first gift they ever receive.

While the drop-off locations have now closed for the season, it is not too late to pack a gift-filled shoebox for a child in need by going online to www.samaritanspurse.org/buildonline.

Each online gift is unique as you click to choose individual items such as a soccer ball, calculator, baseball glove with ball, flip-flops, flashlight, notebook, pens, toothbrush and much more. Finish packing a virtual shoebox by adding a photo and personal note of encouragement.
