Olympic Christian School gets funds for ‘rainy day’ pavilion

In the 27 years since Olympic Christian School opened, with no gym or pavilion on campus, students seeking outside activity have had to brave the wet, cold and sometimes snow during recess and PE.

Recently, however, a benefactor donated $40,000 to build a large, covered pavilion over the existing asphalt play area. A spring fundraiser from the community and funds from the Friends of Olympic School provided additional financing necessary.

Under construction now, the pavilion will be dedicated before school starts in September, OCS officials say.

OCS is a non-denominational community Christian school serving Port Angeles and Sequim since 1992. For more information about OCS, call the school office at 360-457-4640, email to office@olympicchrisitan.org or visit www.olympicchristian.org.
