Olympic Medical Center lauds Central Access staff

Olympic Medical Center representatives gave kudos to seven employees at a recent board meeting for their outstanding teamwork and excellent patient service.

OMP chief physician officer Josh Jones and OMC board president John Nutter recognized Central Access representatives Meghan McHenry, Alyssa Luciano, Tracy Camp, Bryan Bell, Melinda O’Neel and Nikki Brown and Primary Care medical assistant apprentice Felicia Hayward.

OMC’s Central Access staff schedule appointments for patients, process referrals, obtain insurance authorizations and must be competent in Epic, an electronic health record system.

OMC representatives had this to say about the honored staff:

”McHenry’s great enthusiasm to learn and grow professionally resulted in a promotion to registration lead in January.

In addition to being responsible for a heavy workload with complicated charge scenarios, Luciano recently became a certified professional coder apprentice. Previous experience in running an emergency department gives Camp valuable knowledge to tackle complicated and critical authorizations. She digs into insurance policies and coverage criteria in order to get the correct approval for the right service.

In a calm, quiet manner, Bell consistently provides exceptional service in answering patients’ concerns.

As a trainer, O’Neel is tirelessly patient with both trainees and patients. She instills the highest standards in those she instructs.

Incredibly dedicated, Brown ensures her team has the necessary training and knowledge to provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

Although Hayward is still a medical assistant apprentice, she often comes to meetings with extra educational material to share.”
