OMC Foundation has best year ever

The Olympic Medical Center Foundation has announced that it had its best fundraising year ever and along with that, made record donations to Olympic Medical Center in 2016.

The foundation said that it gave $409,000 to or on behalf of OMC last year and presented another check toward the expansion of the Olympic Medical Cancer Center for $82,564 to OMC at its Jan. 4 commissioners meeting.

“We are pleased to announce that we have received $285,000 in donations and pledges toward the cancer center expansion,” said foundation Executive Director Bruce Skinner. “Those gifts have come in large and small amounts from 163 different donors.”

Skinner also said that persons who are interested in more information or in making a donation can call the OMC Foundation office at 417-7144 or email bruce@omhf.org.

Foundation president Jim Jones and OMC commissioners recognized the efforts of Bob and Sherry Phillips, Dr. Mark and Jan Fischer, Phil and Linda Walker, and George and Barbara Brown for making gifts to the expansion effort for a combined total of $30,000.

“We also plan on making other donations that will benefit patients in several departments of the hospital in the very near future,” said Jones. “Our mission is to improve patients’ lives at Olympic Medical Center.”
