OMC picks Delplain for Human Resources Manager

Olympic Medical Center recently promoted 15-year employee Heather Delplain to Human Resources Manager.

Reporting directly to the chief human resources officer, Delplain will oversee employee and labor relations, benefits, leaves of absence, and general HR functions, as well as manage a number of HR personnel.

“Heather is a natural leader and I am very pleased to have her manage many of the key operational functions of the HR department at OMC,” said Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resources officer and general counsel for Olympic Medical Center. “Heather’s HR expertise combined with her caring manner is such an asset to OMC.”

Delplain initially joined Olympic Medical Center in 2003 coordinating employee benefits and leaves. In becoming a Senior HR Business partner several years ago, she began working closely with Burkhardt in employee relations. She is also a leader in employee engagement work.

Delplain proved herself as a critical staff person in major implementations including business enterprise software Lawson in 2012 and most recently an HR talent management software called Cornerstone.

Delplain has also been a trainer for Lean Process Improvement at OMC, as well as a long-time presenter for Olympic Medical’s Service Excellence training.

She was added to the New Employee Orientation slate of presenters in 2017.

“Heather can be counted on to step up and take on new challenges, and do so positively,” Burkhardt said. “With nearly 1,500 employees at Olympic Medical and an ever-growing need for HR, she is the right person in this role to support HR’s mission in ensuring we are providing quality HR services.”
