OMC picks Uraga to lead support services department

Liz Uraga was recently named the new director of Quality Support Services at Olympic Medical Center earlier this year. She joined Olympic Medical Center in August 2017 as a risk specialist.

“Liz promptly demonstrated her capabilities with her strong background in health care law and experience with Medicare compliance, hospital accreditation, improvement methodology and education of medical providers and hospitals for ongoing accreditation,” said Dr. Scott Kennedy, chief medical officer and chief safety officer for Olympic Medical Center.

After stepping into this position, Uraga immediately faced the challenge of Olympic Medical’s accrediting body DNV presenting at OMC for its annual unannounced survey.

“Liz and the Quality Support Services team stepped right up to the plate and did an excellent job in leading the survey response,” Kennedy said. “Our survey went very well and she handled it with grace and confidence.”

Uraga earned her law degree from University of Nebraska College of Law, including a health law certification. Prior to joining Olympic Medical, she was a program manager for StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC, a woman-owned, government-contracted consulting, integration and project management service focused on health care.
