Sedum growing is next Brown Bag series topic, set for Nov. 10

WSU Master Gardener Marsha Robin shares ideas for creative sedum growing, indoors and in the Pacific Northwest garden, at noon Thursday, Nov. 10, in the county commissioner’s meeting room of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Robin will discuss varieties, growing conditions and seasonal planting combinations of this perennial, which has thick, succulent leaves, fleshy stems and clusters of star-shaped flowers.

She also will explain how sedums fit into water conservation and drought resistance landscape management plans.

A Master Gardener since 2011, Robin’s growing experience started years ago on her grandparent’s ranch raising grapes for raisins and fill for the wineries in California, before moving to the Olympic Peninsula.

She has a 10-year career as a vocational trainer and has taught her students, local Girl Scouts and others how to plant and care for sedums.

The presentation is part of the Green Thumb Garden Tips Brown Bag Series sponsored by the Clallam County WSU Master Gardeners.
