DISTRICT

The next school board meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, March 19, in the district boardroom, 503 N. Sequim Ave. The public is invited to attend, and time is set aside for public comment. April 2-6 is Spring Break. Classes resume Monday, April 9.

GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Greywolf hosts Family Movie Night from 6-7:45 p.m. Friday, March 16. Screening next is “The Jungle Book” (2016). Bring a chair, pillows, blanket and cozy stuff. Popcorn is provided; for beverages, bring only water.

Family Math Night is 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in the Greywolf gymnasium. Dinner is served 5:30-6:30 p.m. with games scheduled for 6-7 p.m.

HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Confused about your child’s math homework? Come to Math Night and learn about Eureka Math, state standards, skills, strategies and problem solving. Math Night is set for 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the school library. There will be math games for kids in the STEAM classroom.

The Fifth Grade Fine Arts Demonstration is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Sequim Middle School, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL

The “Alice in Wonderland”-themed Junior Prom is Saturday, March 17, from 8-11 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are on sale for $15 the week of March 12 and will be $20 at the door. Guest requests are available in the main office and must be returned by March 15.

Cheer try-outs begin Saturday, March 17, and continue during the week of March 19. If you are interested in trying out, all sports paperwork must be completed and returned to the main office. White and yellow cards are mandatory to try out.

The high school talent show is March 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission prices are $5 for students with ASB, $10 general admission and $20 for a family.

It’s time for our spring concerts. The SHS choir concert is 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, and the band concert is 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29; both will be in the high school auditorium.

Those missed online registration on March 8 can get registered during a makeup session on Thursday, March 15, upstairs in the library after school. Counselors will be there to help with registration. If you participate in a spring sport, counselors will write your coach a note to excuse you.

Interested in travel and seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the World? The trip to Peru and Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley may be for you. Come to an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, in Anita Benitez’s room (110); this trip is for the summer of 2019.
