SKWIM Toastmasters mark milestone

SKWIM Toastmasters Club members Terry Barrett, Rich Proctor and Lindy MacLaine recently received their Competent Communicator Awards marking completion of their first 10 speeches.

All three are residents of Sequim.

“Completing my CC manual has provided a sense of accomplishment,” MacLaine said. “It’s frosting on top of the added connection and confidence Toastmasters gives me.”

The three members will now begin Toastmasters’ Advanced Communication program. Toastmasters Clubs offers a way to become a better speaker and develop leadership skills.

Toastmasters clubs are located in Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend and are accepting members.

Guests may visit for free. Members pay a small fee every six months and their study manuals are included.

SKWIM Toastmasters club meets from 7-8:15 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Sinclair Place, 680 W. Prairie St., Sequim. Special fifth Tuesday events occur several times each year.
