Story Slam set for Thursday

Ten tellers selected at random will step up to the mic to tell a five-minute true, personal story on the theme “Learning Curve,” starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31,in the Gathering Hall at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. One entry will be selected the winner by judges also selected from the audience.

Tellers interested in telling should put their names in a bag before the show. If their name is drawn, they tell. Normally up to 10 tellers perform over the course of a typical show.

Story Slam judges are given an in-depth, two-minute training for their role on how the judging is to be scored. The theme of the Slam is an open-ended topic that you are free to interpret in whatever way is meaningful to the storyteller.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for OTA and Story People of Clallam County members, and are available at the theatre box office from 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at www.olympictheatrearts.org.
