From country and rock to bluegrass, big band and even a bit of Caribbean music, the City of Sequim’s 2018 Music in the Park concert series has a little something for just about everyone.
The series, held 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays through late August at the James Center for the Performing Arts at Carrie Blake Community Park, 500 N. Blake Ave., invites locals to enjoy some free entertainment from local and regional groups.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and a picnic to the outdoor venue.
This year’s lineup features a number of groups that highlighted last year’s summer series, including local favorite Stardust Big Band, Craig Buhler Quartet, Blue Rhinos and the community’s own Sequim City Band.
Local businesses have joined in helping host the series. Sponsors to date include Presenting Sponsor Air Flo Heating Company ($1,000+); Series Sponsors Castell Insurance, Jarmuth Electric Inc. and Brokers Group Real Estate Professionals ($400-$999); Friends of the Series Sofie’s Florist, Laura J. Dubois and Nikola Broadband ($100-$399), and Series Support Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers and an anonymous supporter ($25-$99)
Summer concert sponsors are still needed, however; those interested in sponsoring are asked to contact Assistant to the City Manager Charisse Deschenes at 360-681-3432 or cdeschenes@sequimwa.gov.
