“Rocky’s Art,” an exhibit of the late master wood artist Rocky Fankhauser, is on display through June at the Sequim Museum, 175 W. Cedar St.

A volunteer with thousands of hours devoted to projects that enhanced the Sequim Museum, Fankhauser’s figurative fingerprints are on the museum’s mastodon displays, the barn door on the office, models of Sequim’s iconic historical sites, walls with crown molding where art is hung for shows and the construction of the tribal longhouse, associates say. During the remodel of the interior of the museum’s exhibit center, Fankhauser installed the new flooring with Katherine and Mike Vollenweider and along side Bev and John Majors.

An engineer by profession, his retirement focused on building his home and shop, his art and efforts to help the museum. Fankhauser died in December 2015.
