The PEO STAR scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year was presented to Carmen Wilwert, a senior at Sequim High School. Wilwert has been accepted and will attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in the fall. She plans to study chemical engineering. The scholarship was presented at the high school awards ceremony on May 31 by Jan Keithley, past president of PEO Chapter FY. The STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application.
