The Woodcock Demonstration Garden in Sequim is open to the public year round, but Master Gardeners hope to highlight the gardens event more with the Fall Festival set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2711 Woodcock Road.

Activities for the whole family are planned. Davis will also be on hand throughout the day to answer questions about the county’s program.

Along with the speakers, master pruner Keith Dekker and a few of his favorite tools will be on hand from 10 a.m.-noon for “Ask the Pruner.” There will also be a hands-on drip irrigation display and lots of encouragement for people new to drip systems.

For the kids, Herbie the Bean Seed will be popping up all day to teach them about the life cycle of a bean seed. With the help of a few friends, Herbie will work with the kids to plant their own root viewer. Youths of all ages are encouraged to have some fun painting a rock to either hide or take home.

All activities are free and open to the public. There will be some plants and Woodcock Garden photo cards available for purchase.
