WOW! forum to tackle mystery of headaches

Dr. Tim Guthrie presents “Headaches: What are they, why are they and how to make them go away” — a free WOW! Working on Wellness forum that starts at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Seating is limited so attendees are urged to arrive early.

Guthrie will discuss different types of headaches based on what causes them, how to tell the difference based on your symptoms and the different ways to prevent and treat headaches based on the cause.

Guthrie is a board-certified family physician who trained at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Forum organizers say he has “embraced a healing model focused on finding the true underlying cause of disease, identifying and eliminating sources of inflammation, emphasizing lifestyle change, treating with nutrition and making prescription medications a last resort unless emergently needed to buy time for the body to heal itself.”

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic. The clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Work is supported by more than 70 volunteers including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Mondays and Thursdays beginning at 5 p.m.

Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 360-582-0218.
