Clallam County looking for board members

Interested in contributing to the community?

Clallam County is looking for volunteers to sit on active advisory committees and boards throughout the county, giving them an opportunity to participate in county government.

One position is open on the Boundary Review Board, which upon request will review any jurisdiction affected by a boundary change such as an annexation proposal or boundary line adjustment. Public meetings are held as necessary.

There are seven positions open on the Carlsborg Community Advisory Council. The council will act as liaison between the citizens of the Carlsborg urban growth area and the board of Clallam County commissioners by functioning in an advisory capacity. The seven positions are open to a resident of the Parkwood community, a resident within the urban growth area boundary, a business or property owner within the Carlsborg industrial zone, a business or property owner within the U.S. Highway 101 commercial zone, a business or property owner within the Carlsborg Village Center and two members at large who own property within the growth area. All positions are four-year terms.

There is one position open for the Heritage Advisory Board, which advises the county commissioners on preservation of the cultural heritage of the county. The heritage position is for a four-year term.

There are two positions open on the Homelessness Task Force, one to be filled from within the faith community and the other a representative of the property management industry. The task force advises the county commissioners on homelessness in Clallam County.

There is one position open on the Permit Advisory Board, to be filled by someone in the manufactured home or mobile home industry. The board makes recommendations for changes in the Clallam County Building Code. The position is for a two-year term.
