Men's Gospel Singers slate concert in P.A.

The Peninsula Men's Gospel Singers sixth annual spring concert "Were You There?" will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Port Angeles High School auditorium, 304 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles.

"(The songs) will lead you through the story of God's relationship with his chosen people ... the slaves out of Egypt, the journey to the promised land, and Ezekiel in a barren place," said Michael Rivers, director.

"All of these moments could be points for you to stop and

wonder, 'What is God up to?'"

Guest artists are Brodie Cays, alto, from Sequim, and Maureen Reynolds, soprano, from Port Angeles. They are accompanied by Jeff Cays on keyboards and Jeremy Cays on piano.

Adult tickets cost $6 to $13. Student tickets are $6 in any section. All seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased by mail: PMGS tickets, P.O. Box 1570, Sequim, WA 98382, or by calling 582-1415.

The singers are from nine churches and six different denominations in Sequim and Port Angeles. Their music selection includes hymns, spirituals, contemporary Gospel and classical arrangements of familiar sacred songs.

Additional concerts are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Keyport Bible Church in Keyport and at 7 p.m. at the Silverdale Methodist Church in Silverdale.
