Journey in Jewish music on Saturday

Mark Levy, a Santa Cruz, Calif., singer-songwriter and humorist, returns for a Jewish journey through a music concert at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, 73 Howe Road, off North Barr Road.

Tickets are $5. Call 681-4518 or visit www.obsh.org.

Levy's "Musical Wanderings" is a journey through music to many countries Jews have sojourned. From the golden age of Spain, to the Eastern European Pale and finally to Israel and America, song has accompanied them through 2000 years of the Diaspora.

Olympic B'nai Shalom Havurah hosts this presentation.

Levy works as a cantorial soloist and says rendering of Jewish folk songs has earned him a worldwide reputation.

Performing, recording and teaching throughout the country and abroad, he has entertained audiences for more than 30 years.

Levy has recorded several albums and has performed and taught in folk clubs, colleges, workmen's circles, community centers and synagogues throughout North America.

Samples of his recordings and more are at www.mark levymusic.com.
