Sequim exchange students chosen

Twelve Sequim Middle School students have been selected to represent their families, the Sequim School District and the Sequim community in the fall 2009 educational exchange with Sequim's sister city, Shiso, Japan.

The students are Emma Barrell, Brittany Brown, Emily Giammalva, Haleigh Harrison, Columbia Haupt, Brendon Hudson, Ian Jones, Annika Lawrence, Justine Roads, Elisa Sallee, Andrea Tjemsland and Tristan

Tosland.

These students and their families will welcome ninth-grade student ambassadors from Shiso in early October.

Two weeks later, the

Sequim students travel to Japan to stay in the homes of their new Japanese friends.

The Sequim-Shiso Student Ambassador exchange began in 1995 and is sponsored by the Sequim-Shiso Sister City Association with cooperation from the Sequim School District.

Adult chaperones for the eight-10 day trip are needed.
