Friends of the Fields and the Sequim Gazette are in the process of producing the 2009-2010 Farm and Garden Guide, a magazine that covers all aspects of the agricultural industry in Clallam County.

No farm is considered too big or too small.

The deadline is May 1.

Henery's Garden Center celebrates five years with a spring fling May 1-3 at 1060 Sequim-Dungeness

Way, Sequim.

Food will be available from the Sauer Kraut and coffee from the Cracked Bean will be served.

Representatives will attend from Gardner and Bloome on May 1, Stillwater Aquatic Plants on May 2, Monrovia on May 3 and the Orchard Society May 2-3.

Skagit Gardens, the Master Gardeners and several others also will be represented.

A planting party is scheduled for May 2. Bring in pots or use the garden center's and receive help planting them.

Bell Creek Plaza is having a cooperative sidewalk sale May 2-10. Staples, Del's Feed & Farm Supply, QFC, 5th Avenue Furniture and Dungeness Kids Co. will participate.



Let's Shop West Coast Connection announced its new spring/summer hours. The store, at 123 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, is open 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

SunLand Golf and Country Club unveils a new membership structure on May 6. The plan allows members to choose how many rounds a year they want to play and gives them the option of adding on the use of the driving range and their personal golf carts.

A new membership category targets golfers who are 55 years old and younger. Two options allow working golfers and their families either to play unlimited golf in the afternoons and on weekends or play unlimited golf seven days a week. Memberships start at $100 a month.

The club hosts an open tournament for all prospective members on May 30. The $20 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, a tee prize and prizes for the winners. There will be three divisions: those with official handicaps, those without handicaps and a division for junior golfers - age 16 or younger.

Caregiver's Home Health May Employee of the Month is Toni Stone. She has worked as a caregiver for the company since Nov. 24, 1997. Stone is described as energetic, positive, upbeat and compassionate and always willing to pick up extra shifts without question.



Wednesdays will be Senior Day at the Elwha River Casino starting from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. May 6.

The casino offers double points, senior deli specials and prizes for the 55 and older crowd.

Dog rescue group Welfare for Animals Guild will be at Best Friend Nutrition from noon-2 p.m. May 9 with dogs of all ages available for adoption to qualified and loving homes.

Volunteers will be on hand to guide people through the adoption process as well as to discuss the many volunteer roles open for interested humans who love and respect dogs.

Donations also will be accepted.
