Richards receives AAUW May honor

The American Association of University Women's Clallam branch officers recently named Angela Suzanne Richards, a senior at Sequim High School, their May Girl of the Month.

Richards boasts a 3.78 grade-point average.

She is enrolled in honors literature, advanced placement math analysis and AP physics, Spanish III, U.S. government and psychology.

Richards has earned a National Merit Scholarship letter of recommendation, four scholar athlete awards, three varsity letters for soccer and two varsity letters for tennis.

Besides her involvement with school soccer and tennis teams, Richards is a member of the National Honor Society, Random Acts of Kindness Club, International Club, Ultimate Frisbee Club and Outdoors Club.

Outside of school, Richards has participated in several church mission trips outside of Washington, including three mission trips to Montana, two to Tijuana, Mexico, and one to Vancouver, Canada.

She's also volunteered as a counselor-in-training at Firwood Christian Camp in Bellingham and is a leader for her church's youth group.

Richards works part time at Radio Shack.

As for her post-high school plans, Richards says she plans on enrolling at a four-year university, preferably Seattle Pacific University. She's considering a career in psychology.

Richards' parents are Tim and Branette Richards.
