Singers perform for mission trip

Local singers and musicians will present a special Christmas concert from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Sequim High School auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

They include Kate Lily, Nathan Funston, Rachel Chumley, Jayme Birdsall, Rachel Hughes, Jonathan and Kenda Simonson, Craig Buhler, Derek and Daja Thomas, Kevin Magner, Tom Taylor and Amanda White.

The organizers are raising funds for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to install a well. Jonathon Simonson, pastor of Sequim Vineyard, said that in April 2008 a mission group delivered medicine to combat a giardia microorganism. This trip is to help eliminate giardia in a Dominican village his church supports.

Volunteers will accept cans of food for the Sequim Food Bank at the event.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $15 couples, $20 for families, $5 for students. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m. and the doors open at 6 p.m.
