Helping Hands food drive

Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy's Helping Hands 2010 Food Drive continues through April. The annual drive collects canned goods for Clallam County food banks.

Clinic owner Lynda G. Williamson and her staff started the drive two years ago in conjunction with National Occupational Therapy Month. The clinic specializes in rehabilitating people with upper extremity disorders and injuries.

Williamson is a registered and licensed occupational therapist, nationally certified hand therapist and certified ergonomic assessment specialist.

Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy, at 708 S. Race St., Suite C, is open 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 7:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Friday.

Tree tips told

Christina Pfeiffer speaks about "10 Tips for Healthy Trees" at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, Sequim.

Pfeiffer is a Seattle horticulturist consultant, writer and instructor.

Her education was completed at Michigan State University and University of Washington.

Active with the Washington Park Arboretum, she is a ISA certified arborist.

New child care director

Bibity Bobity - A Kid's Place child care center, 11 Childers Lane at Carlsborg Road in Carlsborg, has a new director.

Angelique "Angel" Kaufmann graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies with a concentration in early childhood education from Endicott College in Maine. She has worked in Headstart programs and private child care facilities.

Kaufmann, her husband and 2-year-old daughter came to this area through the United States Coast Guard.

Bibity Bobity opened in 1997 as a Washington state licensed child care facility for children ages 1-12.

Spa changes hours

Tender Touches Skin Care Spa, 545 Eureka Way, Sequim, has changed its hours.

The spa is open 9 a.m.-

5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Friday and Saturday by appointment.
