Scouts 'retire' American flags

Need to retire that old American flag? Sequim's Cub Scouts are here to help.

Sequim Cub Scout Pack 4490 is hosting its annual American Flag Retirement Service Project from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 10.

Scouts will be at the Sequim Safeway, 680 W. Washington St., to collect old, worn flags to provide them a proper, solemn retirement ceremony at the Pack 4490 spring campout.

The service is provided at no cost as part of the Scouts "Do a Good Turn For America" effort.

For information about the pack or this service project, call assistant scoutmaster Craig Stevenson at 461-4455 or see sequimscouts.org.
