Schade recognized

Nancy Schade, general manager of Sequim Quality Inn & Suites, received the Choice Hotel's International "2010 Woman of the Year" award.

Schade was recognized for her active leadership and mentoring in the community as she serves multiple organizations including the American Cancer Society, Olympic Medical Cancer Center, American Red Cross and the U.S. armed forces.

Rigg joins Re/Max Fifth Avenue

Shawnna Rigg joined Re/Max Fifth Avenue, 560 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

Rigg has sold real estate for almost 20 years in California and Washington.

She is president of the Sequim Little League, a volunteer with the Sequim Irrigation Festival and coach for the Wolf Pup Cheerleaders.

Sequim gift basket

Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce representatives will greet 18,000 returning troops and their families on Thursday, June 3, in Dupont.

Kruth completes course

David Kruth with Re/Max Fifth Ave successfully completed the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute's course "User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate."

The weeklong course focused on decisions and tools that help a client with decisions in analyzing leases, lease versus purchase analysis, lease buyout analysis and sale-leaseback analysis.

Kiwanis club elects officers

Kiwanis Club of Sequim has elected its officers for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.

They are Gil Oldenkamp, president; Suzi Schmidt, vice president; Shell McGuire, treasurer; and Janice Teeter, secretary.

Installation will be in September.

Bibity Bobity open house

Bibity Bobity- A Kid's Place childcare center, 11 Childers Lane on Carlsborg Road, hosts an open house 9 a.m.-1 p.m. through Friday, June 4.

Tours and information about programs for this summer, fall 2010 preschool and kindergarten are available.

Honeybee Massage Therapy

Heather Harms, a licensed massage therapist and the owner of Honeybee Massage Therapy, opened the business in May at 376 Bell St., Suite 3, Sequim.

Kitsap Bank was named to the Echo Partner's Interest Rate Risk Honor Roll, with a score of 100, the highest score possible. Of the 7,104 banks graded nationwide, only 191 rated a score of 100.
