Chamber luncheon about tourism

"Tourism-Good for Business, Good for Our Community!" is the theme of the program for the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon, Tuesday, July 13.

The luncheon will be held at Sunland Golf & Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive, Sequim.

Purple Haze Lavender Farm and Downtown Store sponsors the luncheon.

Cost is $15 for lunch, $3 for coffee or tea.

Sleep Country collects supplies

Donations of new school supplies are accepted at Sleep Country USA, 1041 W. Washington St., Sequim, from July 19-Sept. 6.

Bring new school supplies, including pencils, pens, erasers, calculators, paper, backpacks, binders and pocket dictionaries for the company's school supply drive for foster children.

Store hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-

8 p.m., Saturday, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.

Superior Stone adds to line

Superior Stone Manufacturing, Inc., has added flagstone, cobblestone and large format pavers to its line of architectural products.

The company, 170 West Sequim Bay Road, Sequim, also builds custom outdoor patio areas, outdoor rooms complete with fireplaces, built-in barbecues and fire pits.

Olympic Cellars releases wines

Seattle's Red Hot Blues Sisters sing and play guitar at

7 p.m. Saturday, July 10, during Olympic Cellars' celebration of the release of several of its wines. Viaggio's serves wood-fired pizza from noon-8 p.m. at the winery, 255410 Highway 101, Port Angeles. Releases include Le Melange Nouveau.

Cedarbrook Garden Cafe is open Sundays, July 11 and 18.

A Lavender Festival dinner and harp concert with harpist Bronn Journey is 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 16.

Kreps Construction gets certified

Kreps Construction, LLC, 398 Pierson Road, Sequim, received Environmental Protection Agency certification.

The certificate is the second part of the agency's compliance program for lead paint renovation.

Dave Kreps attended the EPA Certified Lead Renovator Training in Seattle in April.
