Doherty joins state committee

Clallam County Commissioner Mike Doherty has been appointed to serve on the governor's recently named Committee on Transforming Washington's Budget, a committee representing the major sectors of the economy. The committee's charge is to question budget assumptions, seek citizen input and lend guidance.

Doherty is the only elected official representing local governments. Representing other sectors are: Don C. Brunell, president, Association of Washington Business; Richard Davis, coordinator, Washington Alliance for a Competitive Economy; Jason Mercier, director, Center for Government Reform; Stephen F. Mullin, president, Washington Roundtable; Stephen Reynolds, chairman, president and CEO, Puget Sound Energy; Remy Trupin, executive director, Washington State Budget and Policy Center; Marilyn Watkins, policy director, Economic Opportunity Institute; and representatives of education, labor, legislative caucuses and the media.
