Glass company reopens
Novus Auto Glass reopened at 111 River Road on Aug. 1.

Owner Brent Larson thanks the community for stepping forward to help them stay in business after a June 24 fire damaged four vehicles and did extensive damage to the leased building on Hooker Road. Larson specifically thanks Armacoating for temporarily sharing shop space on Hooker Road; Clallam County Fire District 3 personnel for support in the aftermath of the fire; and the owner of Auto Depot in Sequim for the loan of a work truck.

Hooray and farewell
Blue Mountain Veterinary Clinic is having an open house from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the clinic, 2972 Old Olympic Highway.

The clinic celebrates Dr. Jack Thornton's 30 years of service to pets and pet guardians and wishes him well in his retirement effective the end of August.

PFOA, WAG and the humane society will be at the event for awareness/fundraising. Thornton has been a champion of animal welfare and supporter of local humane organizations.

He is on the board of the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society and recently served as its president.

OMC lab gets accreditation
The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists recently awarded accreditation to Olympic Medical Laboratory, based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.

According to laboratory director Steve Blackham, Olympic Medical Center performs approximately 1.4 million tests per year, including about 97 percent of physician office lab testing in Port Angeles and Sequim.

Bosun's Locker to close
The Bosun's Locker in the John Wayne Marina plans to permanently close in mid-September. Wade Jurgensen, owner/operator for the past nine years, will stay in Sequim with his family to pursue his real estate career. Call 683-6521.
