An early gift for B&G Clubs

From left are Sandi Frantz and Mary Galvin, owners of the Sears store in Port Angeles; George Rodes, Port Angeles unit director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula; Mary Budke, acting executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula; and Bob Grey (owner) and Rob Grey of the Sears store in Sequim.

The Sears stores in Port Angeles and Sequim presented a check for more than $1,200 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

The figure represents 3 percent of the stores' sales on Sept. 18 as part of Sears' "donate and save" event. Each independently owned store could select a charity of its choice on that day and all the owners decided to go together in supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

For more information, contact Mary Galvin or Sandi Frantz at the Port Angeles store, 457-9481, or Bob Grey at the Sequim store, 681-3079.
