Bringing a Sequim tradition back in the vein of “Saturday Night Live,” Sequim’s senior class presents “Senior Night Live ’12.”

More than 40 students bring the parody of the comedy variety show to the performing arts center for four performances to support the senior class graduation party, a drug- and alcohol-free event for students to celebrate safely.

Co-director Robin Hall, who works with her son Kenny, says the show is full of classic, original and pop culture sketches.

Performances include a surprise guest host and musical guest and a wide range of sketches including parodies of Abbot and Costello and “The Carol Burnett Show” and more recent Nickelodeon sketch shows, Rebecca Black’s video “Friday” and the Harry Potter books and movies.

Hall said they did the show for two years, it was well-received, and the seniors earned a lot of money.

Musical numbers include Hall’s original song “You Belong in Sequim,” which Sequim graduate Rachel Chumley sang and eventually played on KSQM radio for several months. Students also sing the title song from the film “Robin Hood: Men In Tights.”

“The show is clean and family oriented,” Hall said. “If people want to go to a show to laugh and be completely entertained, this is the show to attend.”

This is the third Senior Night Live series.

Hall said they have quite a few surprises lined up and the cast has been sworn to secrecy not to let any surprises “out of the bag.”
