A commercial fire erupted Saturday afternoon in the Carlsborg Business Park Loop.

Clallam County Fire District 3 arrived on scene at 160 Banana Way to a fully involved commercial building fire at Reichert's Marble and Granite Fabricators. The business was closed and unoccupied.

The fire was contained to the northern portion but the remainder of the building suffered from heat, water and smoke damage. The roof above the northern section partially collapsed. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes.

Assistant Fire Chief Roger Moeder said Monday it appears the fire was cause by a device used to heat resin but the cause remains under investigation.

Employees on scene estimated that one of several pieces of equipment damaged in the fire cost around $250,000.

The building and business are insured.
