Sequim schools recognized for raising test scores

Two schools in the Sequim School District recently received awards from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction for their efforts to boost test scores.
Helen Haller Elementary School and Sequim High School were listed with dozens of other Washington schools for closing achievement gaps.
The Washington Achievement Awards, based on Washington’s School Achievement Index, recognize elementary, middle/junior high, high and comprehensive schools. Schools are awarded using performance from 2010-2012 on statewide assessments in reading, writing, math and science as well as on graduation rates.
