Take part in nationwide ‘Bells’ event

The Michael Trebert Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, with DAR chapters throughout the nation, are requesting local churches, governments and citizens to participate in the “Bells Across America” to ring bells at 1 p.m. (PST) on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The anniversary marks the national observance of the signing of the United States Constitution.

Participating in the event thus far are St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sequim; and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Gateway Transportation Center and the Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles.

The chapter also is asking any churches and private citizens to join in the bell-ringing.

The DAR chapter also has several displays locally celebrating Constitution Week (Sept. 17-23).
