City begins pavement work

Pavement overlay is scheduled to take place on West Maple Street (between South Third Avenue and South Fourth Avenue), West Prairie Street (between South Fifth Avenue and South Seventh Avenue), South Third Avenue (between West Hemlock Street and West Prairie Street), and West McCurdy Street (between Maizie Court and North Fifth Place) during the week of Sept. 16. These projects are part of the city’s pavement preservation plan.

The paving is expected to be complete in 50 working days. The road will be reduced to one-lane vehicle traffic with flaggers. Drivers should expect some delays. The work will be performed by Lakeside Industries and is dependent on the weather. There will be no parking on these streets during construction.
