Area group to hold benefit auction for Sutton fund

The Kathleen Sutton Inspirational Fund organization helps women in Kitsap, Jefferson, Clallam and Mason counties.

Since its beginning 10 years ago, it’s given more than $250,000 to women in need of help with transportation. It helped more than 600 women and last year alone, it gave $35,411 in aid.

This year, the group hosts its annual auction on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion in Port Gamble. A $15 ticket includes a beer or glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. The event is from 4-7 p.m.

The fund is named for Sutton, a victim of breast cancer who died in April 2004.

Last year the auction took in $45,000.

A silent auction includes items such as gift certificates for restaurants and spas, jewelry, artwork and wine.

Live auction highlights include overnight stays in Victoria, British Columbia, at the Great Wolf Lodge package, two tickets anywhere Alaska Airlines flies, a week in a condo in Mexico, wine tours and golf packages.

To be a part of the auction, go to www.kathleensutton.org. There you can donate, volunteer or find a contact to buy a ticket to the auction.
