Local Scouts set to fundraise

Through Oct. 19, Scouts from a dozen units in the Mount Olympus District (Jefferson County/Clallam County) will be fundraising by selling popcorn and other snacks.

Participants also may support U.S. military personnel by making a contribution that sends popcorn to the troops.

Look for Scouts selling door-to-door in neighborhoods and around town.

This is the largest overall fundraiser jointly coordinated with the Chief Seattle Council to assist local Scout troops, packs and crews fund scouting adventures. Each Scout unit determines how the fundraising is applied.

The Mount Olympus District has raised over $20,000 in recent years and had the No. 1 (Mathew Craig, Troop 1491), No. 4 (Brandon Strean, Pack 4473) and No. 7 (Olin Reynolds, Troop 1480) among Seattle area Scouts.
