Ballots for the Nov. 5 general election were sent to 46,647 registered voters in Clallam County last week. A state Voter’s Guide will be mailed from the state separately. The cutoff for registering to vote (in person) is Oct. 28. Drop-boxes (available 24 hours a day) include Sequim City Hall, 152 W. Cedar St., and the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Call 417-2217.

 

Issues on the ballot include:

 

• Initiative to the Legislature 517, concerning initiative and referendum measures

 

• Initiative to the Legislature 522, concerning labeling of genetically engineered foods

 

Positions up for election include:

 

• Port of Port Angeles, District No. 1

 

• City of Sequim, Position No. 3

 

• Hospital District No. 2, Position 2

 

• Sequim School District, Director at Large

 

Fire District No. 3, Commissioner No. 3

 

• Clallam Parks & Recreation District (SARC), Position No. 2
