Timberwolves pay tribute

The Sequim Middle School Veterans Day assembly, an annual event, is put together by Tracy Barnes, teacher and leadership advisor, and the student leadership team. Ths year’s event was held Friday, Nov. 8.


Members of the Sequim High School choir, under the direction of John Lorentzen, made a special appearance to sing the national anthem. The Sequim Middle School Choir also performed.


Leadership students each spoke on the history of Veterans Day and eighth-grader Kyla Armstrong read an original poem.


A color guard unit from Boy Scout Troop 1492 presented the colors.


Visiting veterans were presented with commemorative pins and hearty handshakes.


U.S. Air Force veteran and teacher Rick Miko shared some of his experiences about serving in the military with the students.


A short patriotic video, created by students, was played.
