Soroptimists seeking art, photos for 2015 Gala Garden Show

Soroptimist International of Sequim is seeking artists and photographers who wish to have an original creation selected as the featured artwork for the 17th Annual Gala Garden Show which takes place next year in March 2015.

Each year an original work, donated by a local artist or photographer, is chosen to be the Garden Show logo. The logo is featured on marketing and publicity materials throughout the year. The artwork also is the centerpiece of a major raffle held the last day of the show.

Selected artwork is prominently displayed at the 2015 Gala Garden Show and at other public events earlier in the year. The artist or photographer also is offered a free vendor booth at the 2015 Garden Show.

Artwork for consideration must be garden-related and most art forms are eligible.

Criteria for artwork submissions

• Subject must be garden-related

• Art forms eligible: paintings and drawings (all mediums, i.e. oil, watercolor, pencil, pen, acrylic, chalk), sculpture, photography, computer and digital art/visual and graphic design

• Finished size of paintings, drawings, photographs, or computer and digital artwork must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches and no larger than 17 inches by 24 inches

Proceeds from the annual Gala Garden Show help fund many Sequim Soroptimist projects that benefit women and girls in local communities.
