Group promotes daily access to Hurricane Ridge

The Hurricane Ridge Winter Access Coalition, a new grassroots effort to restore seven-day winter access to Hurricane Ridge, held an initial meeting with Olympic National Park Management on Tuesday, March 10. The group described this initial meeting as a “positive first step.”

The coalition has been gathering support for the past month, including more than 1,000 signatures on an online petition.

“I was exceptionally pleased with the tone of the meeting and their willingness to continue the dialog,” says coalition member Gary Holmquist.

According to Katy Reid, “Our goal is to work toward a solution for keeping the road open that is sustainable.”
