City hall out, apartments next
What remains of the former Sequim City Hall is rubble.
Lydig Construction tore down the facility, separated the materials and sent them to the dump and different recyclers this week and last.
David Garlington, City of Sequim’s project manager, said materials like metal and masonry were recycled but some materials could not be reused like windows from the 1970s.
“We’re trying for the site to be as green as possible,” he said.
This week crews demolished the former Serenity House Thrift Shop and apartments, plan to break up and recycle concrete, demolish the duplex on Cedar Street and remove parking lights near the Clallam Transit Center.
