Darlene Apeland is the Sequim School District’s new Executive Director of Business Operations and Finance.

Apeland replaces Heidi Hietpas, who resigned from the position in late 2017. Since then, Steve McIntire has been serving as the district’s interim director.

Apeland was most recently Director of Business and Finance at the Quilcene School District. She began her new position in Sequim on May 1.

“We are thrilled to welcome Darlene to our district and the Sequim community,” Sequim schools superintendent Gary Neal said.
