Citizens’ complaints lead to drug bust at a Blyn area residence on U.S. Highway 101.

Earlier this year, Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team, or OPNET, began investigating the alleged sale of marijuana in the Blyn area in response to citizen complaints.

On May 7, OPNET officers, assisted by the Sequim Police Department, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service and the U.S. Border Patrol, executed a search warrant at the residence on the 271000 block of U.S. Highway 101.

Four people, three of whom lived at the residence, were taken into custody as a result of the search. Officers arrested Michael Garbocci, 33, Christina Simpson, 29, Edmond Perez, 26, and Rusty Lee, 30 of Sandy, Ore., for the suspected propagation and distribution of marijuana.

Officers reportedly found and confiscated more than two pounds of processed and packaged marijuana as well as a large amount of cash during the search of the residence. Officers also allegedly found a marijuana growing operation in one of the detached buildings, which contained 50 plants in different stages of growth, growing equipment and equipment used to extract the active ingredient in marijuana from the leaves of the plant.

Officers booked all four suspects into the Clallam County Correctional Facility on a variety of felony charges dealing with the delivery, possession and manufacture of a controlled substance.
