Peninsula College English faculty members Alice Derry, Jim Fisher and Carmen Germain are among 40 writers and artists from Washington State Community and Technical Colleges to have their work showcased in the 2008 Crosscurrents literary journal. The journal is published annually by the Washington Community College Humanities Association and recognizes the work of humanities faculty from across the state.
All three Peninsula College professors are recognized in the poetry category.

Sequim High School Choir Boosters Club is presenting its third annual fundraiser, "We've Got Magic to Do!" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the high school Performing Arts Center. Joining the choir is the Olympic Express Big Band, celebrating its debut performance, and special guest Tracy Blume. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, available at the door.

The Sequim Guild of Seattle Children's Hospital will hold its November meeting at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 in the second floor meeting room of the Lodge at Sherwood Village, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim.
Members and guests who wish to lunch together will meet at 11:30 a.m. at The Oak Table, 292 W. Bell St., Sequim.
