Sequim band
boosters host car wash
The Sequim High Band Boosters are sponsoring a car wash from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 15 at the old First Federal building in the JC Penney shopping center on Washington Street.
Donations are accepted.
The group is continuing fundraising efforts for spring season parades and trips, including a trip to Anaheim, Calif., for the Heritage Festival.
Students and parents wishing to participate can call Colleen Robinson at 683-6936.
Choir fundraiser features Blume, debut of band
For the third year running, singer Tracy Blume is joining the Sequim High School choir at the choir's annual fundraiser.
This year, she'll have even more help.
The choir event, "We've Got Magic To Do," is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the high school's Performing Arts Building, 533 N. Sequim Ave. It features the debut of the Olympic Express Band, a collection of some of the Olympic Peninsula's top musicians.
Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults. For more information, call 582-3600.
College's 'Generale'
series continues
Peninsula College's annual Studium Generale educational series is in full swing, with events most Thursdays throughout the fall.
On Nov. 13, author Irving Warner is scheduled to speak. On Dec. 4, the presentation features seasonal music by the college music department.
All events are noon-1 p.m. at the college's Little Theater on the main campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
First Teacher activities set
The First Teacher classroom at the Sequim Community School (Room 4W, 220 W. Alder St.) is the site of a number of family activities each Friday.
On Nov. 14, Rebecca Redshaw talks about the United Way Coins for Change program. Parents are encouraged to bring spare change and teach children they can help their community and make change with their change.
On Nov. 21, bring canned goods donations for the Sequim Food Bank. Stephen Rosales from the Sequim Boys & Girls Club leads parents on a walk down the street to take donations to the Sequim Food Bank.
