Vehicular assault charge pending in Kitsap wreck

A vehicular assault charge awaits the outcome of a Washington State Patrol investigation of a one-vehicle crash Saturday night on state Route 104 in Kitsap County.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a Chevrolet Geo Prism carrying two men and a woman was eastbound on Highway 104 approaching state Route 20 about 9:10 p.m. Saturday.
The vehicle left the roadway to the left, struck a tree and came to rest in a driveway, according to the patrol.
The two men had walked away from the scene when they were contacted by troopers, said Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Krista Hedstrom.
"Their stories were inconsistent so it's unknown who was driving, but we'll figure it out based
on vehicle damage and injuries.
"Somebody will be charged with vehicular assault because of the injuries to passenger and because alcohol was involved," she said.
Alison L. Dick, 26, of Sequim, another passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton with a broken scapula and cranial bleeding. She was treated and released from the hospital's emergency room.
Jay J. Bolstrom, 28, Port Angeles, was treated for a rib injury at Harrison Hospital and released.
Joseph L. Charging Whirlwind, 25, Seattle, was treated for a hip injury at Harrison Hospital and released.
The Geo Prism was totaled. It was taken to the State Patrol impound lot in Bremerton as part of the investigation.
Westbound Highway 104 was blocked for four hours and 41 minutes with one-way alternating traffic around the scene.
