Justin Hill - Hill, 28, of Sequim, was charged Feb. 23 with first-degree theft. On Feb. 20, Sequim Police responded to Walmart on a report of an employee theft.

Loss prevention specialists at the store gave police a surveillance video that allegedly showed Hill stealing from the store between the dates of Dec. 31, 2008, and Feb. 17, 2009.

Hill reportedly made fraudulent returns using other customers'

receipts. Police reports indicate Hill made at least six of the transactions with a total theft of about $3,550. Hill was arrested and transported to the Clallam County Correctional Facility.

Jake Lee - Lee, 25, of Sequim, was charged Feb. 23 with second-degree theft.

A Port Angeles man reported to the Port Angeles Police Department he had found a chain saw at a pawn shop that he had reported stolen last September. Police reviewed the shop's records and found Lee to have pawned the chain saw as well as two other power tools stolen from the back of the Port Angeles man's truck.

Lee reportedly had worked for the man and quit right around the time of the theft.

Nathan Quick - Quick, 21, of Sequim, was sentenced Feb. 26 to $800 in fines and 90 days in jail for the charge of possession of 40 grams or less of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Quick saw 89 days of his sentence delayed if he is able to comply with court requirements. He also received credit for the one day he already served in jail.

Quick originally had been charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor but accepted a plea deal from prosecution for a reduced charge and sentence.

In October, a Sequim Police officer was patrolling Carrie Blake Park at night and came across a vehicle parked on the back side of the park on North Rhodefer Road. The officer made contact and immediately smelled marijuana, according to his report.

The driver was a minor and the passenger was Quick. The officer found a container with eight plastic bags inside, two of which had suspected marijuana and six of which had residues of the suspected drug.
