Port of Port Angeles Commissioner John Calhoun of Beaver announced he will seek re-election to the seat he won in 2003.
Calhoun, 65, represents western Clallam County and serves as president of the three-person board. Its members serve staggered six-year terms representing western, central and eastern Clallam County.
They oversee a countywide district that has 47 employees and a $6 million annual operating budget.
Calhoun earned a bachelor's degree in forest management from the University of California at Humboldt and is a graduate of the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Program.
He has been director of the Olympic Natural Resources Center in Forks since 1995. Before that, Calhoun worked 28 years with the state Department of Natural Resources where he was department director of habitat conservation planning from 1993-1995 and Olympic Region manager from 1982-1993.
