Sequim Community Church helps Honduran hospital

Sequim Community Church raised $1,000 for staff dining area screens at CURE Honduras Children's Orthopedic Hospital. The screens protect against dengue fever, carried by mosquitos. Nine church members volunteered earlier this year at the hospital.
The Sequim group's original plan was to build a jungle gym for the children but they decided the immediate need shifted to protecting the staff, said Rick Dietzman, Sequim Community Church associate pastor.
The hospital is run by CURE, an international nonprofit agency that brings surgeons and doctors to aid children and families medically and spiritually.
Hospital staff featured the new screens as part of their recent grand opening.
Sequim Community Church sent its team to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from Feb. 28-March 8.
